School Employee Fired For UFO Searching

SETI@home Multi-Beam screensaverA system administrator is accused of installing the seti@home program on every single one of the school district’s 5,000 computers. The implementation of the program caused the Higley Unified School District in Gilbert, Arizona to become the largest contributor to the SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) project.

Authorities stated that 38 year old Brad Niesluchowski’s suspicious activities are being investigated and that the estimated energy use and equipment loss could cost the school district more than$1.6 million over 9 years.

Niesluchowski’s mother said she is not aware any obsession with UFOs that her son may have, but stated she has heard Brad talk about SETI. Due to the unauthorized use of school equipment, this search for intelligent life in outer space may cost Brad Niesluchowski his freedom as criminal charges are being pursued.
